Bauchi State Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has expressed shock over the death of Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff and other top military officers killed in a plane crash.
Governor Mohammed in a statement through his aide on new media, Lawal Mu’azu Bauchi also condoled President Muhammadu Buhari over the death Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru.
The statement says Governor Mohammed received the demise of the Army Chief with shock, describing the death as a painful one.
The governor also “commiserated with Defence Headquarters, Nigerian Army in particular as well as family of the deceased over the monumental loss.
“The Governor also condoled with the family of the other gallant soldiers who paid the supreme price in the service of the country.
“Governor Bala said Nigeria and Nigerians will forever remember the late soldiers for their courage, bravery and sacrifice”, the statement said.
