There was a drama of some sort at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja on Friday when officers of Department of State Service, DSS stormed and whisked away the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria ( IMN), Ibraheem El-Zakzaky and his wife, Zeenat, The Independent can report.
The IMN leader and his wife were brought in by an Ethiopian Airlines ET 911 at 11: 40 am on Friday following controversies surrounding his treatment in an Indian hospital.
He was taken through the Presidential wing by the operatives. Journalists were prevented from going close to the tarmac for the coverage of his arrival as they were restricted to the arrival lounge of the airport.
It was gathered that the officers drove an ambulance to the tarmac with a wheelchair and picked him as he alighted from the aircraft.
Daily Independent cannot confirm the exact location where he was taken at the time of this report.
The leader of the sect arrived in the country a few minutes ago after their unsuccessful medical trip in India.
