The Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung, on Monday in Benin tasked players of newly promoted Bendel Insurance to play as a team in order to do well in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
Dalung gave the charge while addressing the players at the University of Benin Sports Complex training ground.
“Make sure you play together as a team to attain your goal as professional footballers. I urge you all to watch the video clips of great footballers in the world and perfect your skills.
“Ensure that you have a role model you are emulating and looking up to, it will help you achieve your desired dreams,” he said.
He called on those in charge of the player’s welfare to improve on it, in order to make them consentrate and avoid distractions of any kind.
Charles Omokaru, Captain of the team, thanked the minister for his encouragement and promised that the team would work hard to make great showing in the league
