The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Polytechnics (SSANP) has expressed concern on the continuous discrimination against Polytechnic graduates by employers of labour.
The Association says it would mobilize its members across the country to face the organizations involved in the act.
The National President of SSANP, Reverend Sunday Sabo during the 58th National Executive Council Meeting of the Association held at Federal Polytechnic Bauchi, said they were concerned over the continued discrimination against polytechnics’ graduates in the country.
The National President solicited the support of traditional institutions to ensure federal government implements the Needs Assessment conducted for Polytechnics to salvage the system from total collapse.
In a key note address, the Rector, Federal Polytechnic Bauchi Sunusi Waziri Gumau said to ensure mutual understanding among management and unions in the institution, the management has given special attention to the improvement of their welfare.
Sunusi Waziri Gumau called for synergy among all the stakeholders in the Polytechnic by using dispute resolution mechanism.
The Rector informed the gathering that already, the management of the Institution has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with some Universities as a measure to meet the educational need of the Institution’s students.
