You may recall that, APC members of the Bauchi state house of assembly met with the former governor of Bauchi State MA Abubakar over the weekend in Gombe, the Gombe state capital.
Upon their return, they hatched what was suspected to be the
purpose of the meeting—a plan to remove their speaker Honourable Abubakar YSulaiman just to appease the former governor for reasons best known to them.You may also recall that the former governor is not insupport of the emergence of the current speaker right from the onset, hencefollowing every available means to see him removed.
Instead of the members to be more interested in assistingthe government in curbing the menace of thedeadly coronavirus that befallen the state, where his Excellency Governor BalaMohammed tested positive to the virus and is under locked and key.
The law makers defy all decency and the urge to remainremorseful and be sympathetic to the Governor, his elder brother who waskidnapped hours after the governor tested positive and indeed the generality ofthe people of the state.
They instead, resorted to engaged themselves into apolitical jamboree that can only serve the interests of a person, who was sentaway by the people of the state for his recklessness and poor performance inthe last four years that he held sway as the state chief executive officer.
Reports had it that, the report of the asset recoverycommittee indicted the former governor where he was accused of siphoning publicfunds and the government’s resolve to charge him to court might be the reasonof this unwanted political hullabaloo that portray the APC assembly members as inhumanand worse than the deadly coronavirus.
They are mere rubber stamp in the hands of the formergovernor who wanted distract his Excellency Bala Mohammed on the good works hestarted in building a new Bauchi state of our dream.
It is also evident that the good working relationshipbetween the executive and the legislative arms of government is what the formergovernor and his party the APC is not happy about, at a time when they areexpected to be remorseful to the situation the whole world is confronting, theyprefer to demean themselves and insult the whole people of Bauchi state.
For this and as a citizen, I condemned this recklessness ofour assembly members amidst this trying moment and I will like to call on alldiscernible minds in the state and the country in general to do exactly so.
This is also evidence that the man MA Abubakar is still inpain of losing the GOVERNORSHIP SEAT OF Bauchi state and may go to any lengthto bring rancour in the affairs of the state and the members of the assembly.
