NGO Urges Stakeholders to Advocate for Gender-Responsive and Inclusive Education Reforms

Safe The Child Initiative (STCI), a not-for-profit organization, has called on stakeholders in the education sector to influence government agencies to adopt gender-responsive and inclusive education planning and implement Tsangaya reforms.

STCI’s Chief Executive, Mr. Abdulganiyu Abubakar, made this appeal during a stakeholder advocacy and engagement event held on Friday in Sokoto.

The event was part of a project titled “Strengthening Civil Society to Enhance Education for All in Northern Nigeria,” supported by PLAN International EU-INTPA.

The project targets Sokoto and Adamawa States, aiming to address the issue of out-of-school children and support the transformation of Tsangaya education systems in these regions. Abubakar emphasized the need for community-based groups, civil society organizations, and Qur’anic school tutors to collaborate with statutory government agencies.
