As candidates aspiring for elective positions intensify mobilisation for support ahead of the 2023 general elections, youths and women groups in Bauchi have averse that only candidates with proven integrity and character will be considered for election across board by electorates in the state.
The coalition of Bauchi youth and women forums took to street in their numbers protesting deterioration of qualitative leadership in the country which plunged Nigerians into state of misery and deprivation, demanded voters in not just Bauchi State but Nigeria as a whole to only choose credible, God-fearing candidates in the next year’s general elections in the country.
The youths who converged on the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, took their movement to the Federal Secretariat through to the Bauchi State Secretariat of the All progressive Congress, APC.
Comrade Ishaku Kelo, convener of the procession, said that the movement is committed to enlightened the public on the importance of electing credible candidates into elective positions in the country.
Comrade Kelo said that they have sought and mobilized the support of market women, artisans traders, and business tycoons as well as the elites in the state to join the crusade so as to take the message to all parts of the country.
Mrs. peace Edwards, a co-convener of the movement, called on Nigerian women to shine their eyes ahead of next year’s general elections to elect educated, credible and God-fearing leaders.
This is coming days after an NGO Rescue Nigerian Youth, Solomon Dalung Foundation called on the Nigerian electorates to elect capacitated leaders in the next general elections in the country.
