Two-time Bauchi Gov’ship Aspirant, Pate Makes Ministerial List

A two-time governorship aspirant in Bauchi State, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, has been unveiled as part of the 28 nominees who made the first batch of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ministerial list.

Before his nomination, Pate had served as the president of Gavi Vaccine Alliance, a global vaccine company.

Professor Pate was a Minister of Health between 2011 and 2013 and also became the World Bank’s Director of Health and Director of the Bank’s Finances between 2019 and 2021.

Why Tinubu Should Ignore Nay-Sayers and Make Ali Pate Nigeria’s Health Minister

He aspired for the governorship seat in Bauchi under People Democratic Party (PDP) and under People Redemption Party (PRP) in the 2015 and 2019 elections respectively but could not make it.

Although there were no portfolios attached to the list released today, there were speculations that Pate is being considered for health minister. Pate is a specialist in infectious diseases.
