Zamfara Gov’t refunds 646m Naira pension deducted from Civil servants

Zamfara state government has commenced the of refunds of 646.4 billion naira pension deducted from salaries serving and retired civil servants.

A statement by the Director General, Press Affairs government House Yusuf Idris Gusau said 13,683 serving and retired state civil servants will receive the refund.

The statement added that the pension payments is to be made through the office of the Head of Service under the State and local government contributory pension scheme which empowers the Head of Service to pay both State and local governments staff.

According to the statement, the office of the Head of Service has already commenced the payment of all 14 the local government primary School teachers as approved by the State Executive Governor.

“Those to benefit include 12,044 serving staff, 1450 Retired and 189 deceased persons” the statment adds.

Families of the deceased are expected to come along with court clearance and all relevant documents containing the full information of the deceased to the State primary education board, before the office of the Head of Service can effect payment.

The statement claimed that, the state Governor Bello Matawalle had since directed that all payments to the beneficiaries must be made through their bank accounts or their next of kin’s.
