13 years after, Cleric extols Sheikh Jafar’s legacies

In a sober reflection to remember the legacies of Shiekh Ja’afar Mahmud Adam13 years after he was gruesomely killed by unknown gunmen, a Jos based Islamic Scholar Ibrahim Idris said the late scholar has bequeathed lasting legacies.

The renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Jafar Mahmud Adam was killed on 13th April, 2007 by some faceless assassins.

WikkiTimes gathered that, Sheikh Jafar was born in February 12, 1960 in Daura LGA of Katsina state and met his waterloo while leading morning prayers.

Speaking to our correspondent, Sheikh Ibrahim Idris Jos, one of his students said ” Sheikh Jafar had lived an exemplary life worthy of emulation by all students and scholars alike, his quest for knowledge and imparting it is unrivalled for.”

Sheikh Jaafar’s expertise in Qur’anic exegesis and jurisprudence distinguished him among many other contemporary scholars in Nigeria.

Sheikh Idris described him as martyr, “an epitome of simplicity, easy going and looking at how he’s gruesomely killed, he could be seen as a dweller of Jannah”, he said.

Sheikh Idris advised students to see the life of Sheikh Jafar as a mirror in their quest for knowledge and teaching the gospel truth.

Recall that, Sheikh Jaafar was killed on one fateful Friday while leading morning congregational prayers in Kano.

He’s well known for his good understanding of Qur’an and prophetic traditions; he’d departed the world while his memory is still fresh.
