200 women get training on skills acquisition in Bauchi

About 200 women from Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State are currently receiving training on various skills acquisition programs under the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment initiatives to provide sources of employment for Nigerians in line with the resolve of the APC led Federal Government to fight poverty and unemployment in the country.

This was disclosed on Monday by the Minister of State in the Ministry, Ambassador Maryam Yalwaji Katagum when she paid a courtesy visit on the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed at the Council Chambers of the Government House, Bauchi.

Maryam Katagum said that this was part of the determination of the Ministry to provide technical support to local small and medium enterprises for the growth of the economy pointing out that currently, the federal government is working in close collaboration with financial institutions to support local enterprises with soft loans and credit facilities.

The Minister who reaffirmed the government’s determination to boost Trade and Investment sector in the country appealed to the state government to work with the Ministry to improve value chain and develop the products produced by local traders.
