6 Killed, 2 Abducted in Katsina Christmas Eve Terrorist Attack

Six persons have been killed and two others abducted after some terrorists attacked traders in the Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Residents said that the traders were killed on Sunday evening while returning from a local market in the council.

WikkiTimes gathered that the killed traders were buried on Monday in Yan Gayya village, according to  Islamic rites.

It was learnt that the terrorists, believed to be fleeing from a security operation in Zamfara State, shot and attacked the vehicle the traders were travelling in at Kukar Babangida village.

“The traders were travelling from Jibia market to Yan Gayya after trading at the market. The driver was shot dead which forced the vehicle to stop down the road. The terrorists killed six traders, abducted two  and wounded four. The terrorists thereafter left without taking anything from the vehicle,” a resident said.

The residents disclosed that four other persons, identified as Biliyaminu, Mallam Jafaru, Lawal Dachi and Dan Hasuma, were wounded during the attack.

The spokesman for the Katsina Police Command, Abubakar Aliyu, confirmed the incident, adding that security operatives were already on the trail of the terrorists.
