Plateau Red Cross Donates First Aid Kits to FUK Detachment

The Plateau State Branch of the Nigerian Red Cross Society has donated a set of essential first aid materials to the Red Cross detachment of the Federal University, Kashere (FUK), Gombe State.

The items, which include hand gloves, triangular bandages, hand sanitizers, and other basic medical supplies, were presented by the Assistant Communication Officer of the Plateau branch, Halima Yusuf.

Speaking during the handover, Ms Yusuf said the donation was aimed at supporting humanitarian efforts and promoting effective first aid response within the university community.

“This gesture is to strengthen the capacity of the detachment to handle emergencies and promote hygiene practices in line with Red Cross values,” she said.

Adebayo Samuel Oluwa Kayode, Commandant of the FUK Red Cross detachment and a final-year Mass Communication student, commended the donation, describing it as timely and impactful. He noted that the kits would significantly enhance the group’s sanitation efforts and emergency response readiness.

Also speaking, Abdullahi Aminu, Provost Marshal of the FUK detachment, expressed appreciation to Nurudeen Hussaini Magaji, Secretary of the Plateau branch, for facilitating the support.

On her part, Onyefu Precious Ojima, Disaster Management Coordinator of the FUK Chapter, assured that the items would be used judiciously to further the Red Cross mission on campus.
