The Bauchi State Police Command has rescued three kidnapped victims and arrested six suspects following an operation in Toro Local Government Area of the state.
The Command’s spokesperson, CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, disclosed this in a statement issued in Bauchi.
Wakil said the operation followed a distress call received in the early hours of September 29, 2025, from a community member in Euga village, Toro LGA, reporting that gunmen had abducted three men — Idi Umar, Idi Lawan, and Musa Lawal.
He explained that a joint team comprising personnel from the Toro Area Command, Toro Division, Nabordo Division, and local security partners was immediately mobilised to track the suspects.
“The combined forces successfully engaged the kidnappers and rescued the victims unharmed,” Wakil stated.
He identified the arrested suspects as Abubakar Usman, Adamu Alo, Abubakar Aliyu, Umar Habu, Abubakar Mamman Abubakar, and Shehu Sambo.
According to the police, the rescued victims have since been reunited with their families and are in good health.
Wakil said the suspects are currently providing useful information to investigators and would be transferred to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU) in Bauchi for further interrogation before being charged to court.
Quoting the Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, the statement reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to ensuring public safety and urged residents to remain vigilant and share credible information with law enforcement agencies.
“The Command remains resolute in protecting the lives and property of citizens across the state. We call on residents to continue supporting the police with timely intelligence,” the statement added.
