A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Salisu Barau has dismissed the purported suspension of the state party chairman, Alhaji Uba Nana, describing the action as “political stupidity.”
Alhaji Salisu who is the Publicity Secretary of Bauchi state APC Integrity Forum while granting interview with newsmen on Thursday in the state said that the situation was nothing but a charade.
“First of all, on behalf of the APC Unity and Integrity Forum, I will describe the situation as charade and what we call political stupidity”, Barau said.
The party Chieftain who noted that APC as a party is an institution governed by procedures, rules and regulations explained that no one has the right to suspend or remove a leader who emerges through congress.
“In an ideal society where people know what they are doing, you don’t just wake up overnight and decide to take up responsibility of sacking, dismissing, or suspending institutional person that is on a particular seat through the normal constitutional provisions, whether political, association or what have you”, he argued.
Alhaji Salisu who debunked rumours of crisis in Bauchi APC, said the architects of the purported suspension of Uba Nana were political contractors hired to create acrimony and disaffection within the party.
“The present Chairman was elected through a very valid congress in 2018, he emerged winner and his tenure will elapse only after his own period “, he recalled.
Salisu who said anybody challenging the previous congress that produced Nana as Chairman of the APC in Bauchi state should wait until the end of his tenure, otherwise, such person can be said to be the most unfocused person.
He said, there are procedures for those accusing the state party chairman of wrong doings to follow, after which, if found guilty, the party will take a decision.
WikkiTimes recalls that at a press conference on Wednesday, a certain group of the party said it has dismissed the party Chairman Uba Ahmed Nana, describing the congress the produces him as Chairman of the party as fraudulent and lacking in merit.
