Children die untimely in Dumna village under Guyuk Local Government Area of Adamawa State. However, a 57-year-old Benson Timothy, on May 15, 2022, was accused of witchcraft and executed by a group of four men.
The men (also natives of Dumna village) responsible for his death, are now facing a murder trial at a magistrate court in Adamawa.
In Dumna, the death of youngsters seems to be a common phenomenon. A long list of death prompted a debate between the deceased and his killers at a drinking point in the village. Subsequently, he was lynched to death on the basis that he was responsible for the mysterious death of the children.

The suspected killers, Ishaku Sanda, Ezekiel Kumtha, Awo Mesa, and Oga Dapila, reportedly lynched the victim to death and set his remains ablaze.
The police authority, Wednesday, confirmed the incident stating that the alleged culprits have been arrested and arraigned in court.

In a prosecution led by Inspector Zakka Musa, at the Adamawa Chief Magistrate Court, presided by Abdullahi Mohammed Digil, the offences of the culprits are “criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide which contravened sections 60 and 192 of the State Penal Code Law of 2018.
Musa, in a First Information Report (FIR), presented to the court, alleged that the defendants criminally conspired and attacked the deceased, Benson Timothy, on that fateful day.
The four suspects however pleaded not guilty to the charges, and the judge accordingly ordered that they should be remanded in custody as he adjourned the case to July 5, 2022.
