Abuja-based couple, Jeremiah Ezewulu and Nkem Irene Ezewulu, were arraigned before a federal high court in the federal capital territory for an alleged scam of N2.5 million.
The Abuja Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the couple were arraigned on June 29, 2022, before Justice M.A. Madugu of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Bwari, Abuja, adding their arraignment was hinged on a one-count charge of conspiracy and criminal breach of trust.

Sometime in 2020, WikkiTimes learnt that the couple illegally misappropriated the sum of N2,500,000 entrusted to them by one Emmanuel Akaka as payment for the purchase of a vehicle, an American Toyota Rav4.
“You thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 311 of the Penal Code Act, Laws of the Federation (Abuja), 1990 and punishable under Section 312 of the same law,” reads the court statement in parts.

After pleading not guilty to the crime. justice Madugu granted them N1 million bail with two sureties each in like sum. The judge would later adjourned the case to October 18, 2022.
