The All Progressives Congress (APC) Youths Forum has urged eligible Nigerians to register and obtain Permanent Voter Card (LVC) in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
The Chairman of the Forum, Malam Ukasha Hamza, made the call at a press conference on Tuesday in Bauchi. Hamza said the call was imperative towards encouraging eligible Nigerians to obtain PVC, to enable them to exercise their franchise in subsequent elections.
According to him, the PVC allows eligible Nigerians to exercise his or her right to vote or be voted for during an election. Hamza also urged party stakeholders to work towards ensuring the conduct of hitch-free and peaceful congresses of the party.
He described the convention as a process that would institutionalize internal democracy, good governance and responsible leadership.
While stressing the need for cooperation and understanding among the stakeholders, Hamza said the Forum identified with the aspiration of the former governor of Nassarawa State, Alhaji Tanko Almakura, who is vying for the chairmanship position of the party.
“Almakura has the capacity to reposition the party and ensure its electoral victory in future elections,” he said. (NAN)
