ATBU Management Disowns Student Drug Dealer, Says Suspect No Longer With It

The Management of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, ATBU, Bauchi has refuted claims making the rounds that a 27-year-old Final year Petroleum Engineering Student, Ali Mohammed, arrested by NDLEA officials with 3.032kg of cannabis sativa at a Motor Park in Iddo Lagos is a student of the institution.

Umar Muazu Dabai, Head of Public Relations Directorate of ATBU made this rebuttal in a statement made available to WikkiTimes on Thursday.

The University maintained that the information carried by some blogs associating the student to the institution was untrue.

The University management clarified that “the suspect had voluntarily withdrawn from the university since 2014/2015 Academic Session”.

The statement says by virtue of this withdrawal, the so-called student was no longer a member of the institution and should not be identified as such whatsoever by members of the public.
