Bauchi State Orphans and Vulnerable Children Agency, BASOVCA has said that it is committed to imparting entrepreneurial skills to orphans and vulnerable children in the state to make them economically independent.
Haijya Yelwa Abubakar Tafwabalewa, Chairperson BASOVCA, stated this at the complex of the Bauchi State Houses of Assembly after defending the agency’s 2022 appropriation.
She said that the agency would continue to assist orphans to become useful citizens in society through engaging them in various skill acquisition programmes.
She explained that the Agency will also pay attention to Education, Health, Shelter, Child protection, Psycho-Social, Food and Nutrition as well as initiating programmes that have a direct impact on their livelihood.
Danlami Ahmed Kawule, Deputy Speaker of the House and Chairman House Committee on appropriation commended the agency for optimal performance in its 2021 budget and expressed hope that the current one would focus on the welfare of orphans and other less privileged children in the state.
