Bauchi Assembly Minority Leader losses Seat to APC in Misau

In the just concluded elections held on Saturday, March 18th, 2023, the incumbent Minority Leader of the House, Bakoji Bobbo (PDP), lost his seat to the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Ahmed Maikudi Yahaya, in the Chiroma Constituency of Misau LGA.

Maikudi Yahaya emerged victorious with a total of 10,054 votes, while Bakoji Aliyu Bobbo of the PDP received 7,539 votes. The announcement was made by Professor Inuwa Yusuf Mohammed, the Constituency Returning Officer, at the Misau INEC office, where he declared Maikudi as the winner and returned elected. The PRP received 1,544 votes, and NNPP’s candidate Abubakar Ahmed polled 625 votes.

Similarly, Hon Bababyo Muhammed Akuyam of the PDP won the Hardawa Constituency seat in Misau LGA for the second time, with a total of 9,240 votes, defeating Muhammed Yakubu Zadawa of the APC, who received 8,907 votes. The PRP received 2,612 votes, NNPP received 1,056 votes, and the ADP received 1,348 votes, according to the results declared by INEC.
