Bauchi Budget Commissioner made misleading comments on twitter, says Principal assented into law bill on Transport Agency

Bauchi State Budget and Economic Planning Commissioner, Dr. Aminu Hassan Gamawa has twitted a misleading information regarding bill seeking to establish Bauchi State Road Transport Agency, BAROTA.

The commissioner on his verified twitter handle said Governor Bala has “signed into law a bill that established the Bauchi State Road Transport Agency (BAROTA).”

He said “the agency will start working soon. “We hope that will address some of the challenges associated with transportation and safety in Bauchi, create jobs & revenue” Gamawa said on the tweet.

The commissioner also tagged his principal Bala Mohammed on the tweet.

But summary of the State Assembly’s plenary on Tuesday revealed that the bill seeking to establish the Agency just scaled through second reading and was referred to House committee on works and Transport and they were to report within one week.

Findings by WikkiTimes suggests the comments made by the commissioner regarding BAROTA were misleading as confirmed by the assembly.

The commissioner did not respond to press inquiries seeking clarification on his tweet.
