Bauchi Gov, BAHA Deputy Speaker donate bags of rice, cash to victims of capsized canoe

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has donated over 100 bags of rice and the sum of N1million to the families of 13 people that recently died when their canoe capsized.

In a statement signed and issued to WikkiTimes, the Deputy Speaker of the Bauchi State Assembly Hon. Danlami Kawule who represented the governor along side his commissioner for solid minerals Hon. Nuruddeen Abdulhameed said the donation was to support the families of the victims.

“We visited the wards of Gwaskwaram, Munmunsal and Galambi to commiserates over the sad incident where a canoe that was conveying the victims capsized in a river between Yoladoka-Yuguda and Luti villages of Gwaskwaram district where 13 people lost their lives”, the Deputy Speaker said in a statement.

“We were there together with the commissioner of solid and mineral resources, Hon. Nuruddeen Abdulhameed on behalf of His Excellency, Governor Bala Mohammed to commiserate with families of the deceased”, he said.

The deputy speaker while commiserating with the families of the deceased urged them to accept the incident as an act of Allah.

While praying Allah to grant the deceased eternal rest and their families the fortitude to bear the lost, Hon. Kawule said as representative of the people, he will remain resolute in carrying his people along at all times.

According to him, the donation was part of effort of Governor Bala Mohammed to support the bereaved families at trying times.

“We thanked his Excellency the Governor for always identifying with the people even at trying times”, Kawule said.

“As your representative, I will continue to be with you and to support you during difficult times”, he assured.
