Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has called on Christians in the state to imbibe the qualities of Jesus Christ as they celebrate Easter.
The governor said as the coronavirus continue to ravage some parts
of the country including Bauchi State, Christians also need to maintain socialdistancing during the celebrations in order to curb the spread of the virus.In a statement circulated to newsmen in Bauchi by the SeniorSpecial Assistant to the Governor on Media, Muktari Gidado, Governor Bala said “Easteris observed by Christians to show solidarity and sympathy to Jesus Christ whopaid the supreme price in order to save the lives of his disciples andfollowers to commemorate his resurrection from death.
“Jesus Christ gave sermons to his followers on peace, honesty,love for one another and above all, the fear of God.
“Therefore, I enjoin you all to imbibe these qualities and putthem into practice, irrespective of your denominational inclination,” GovernorBala said.
The governor also assured Christains that his administration iscommitted to maintain peace and order, adding “the present administration hastaken all proactive measures to ensure the safety of lives and property of thepeople of the state.”
Governor Bala urged people to eschewethnic, religious or political differences and live in peace and harmony withone another.
He said continued prayers will help the administration to surmountthe evolving challenges of COVID-19.
