Bauchi Governor retires Head of Service, appoints Yalwa as replacement

Bauchi state governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has directed the State’s Head of Service Alhaji Adamu Gokaru  to proceed on compulsory retirement.

In a statement made available to newsmen, the Governor’s Spokesperson, Dr. Ladan Salihu said Governor Bala has approved the appointment of Alhaji Nasir Mohammed Yalawa as Gokaru’s replacement.

The statement says, Gokaru’s replacement was in the best interest of the state.

It was unclear whether Gokaru’s replacement was linked to the alleged discovery of ghost workers in the state’s Ministries,  Departments and Agencies.

Governor Bala while receiving updates on the state of affairs during a two week long ministerial briefing from all the MDA’s in the state, however, directed the Former Head of Civil Service and the State Civil Service Commission to block the leakages.

WikkiTimes reports that the Governor had on June, 6 revoked all contracts awarded in the State Universal Basic Education sector, citing ghost workers and alleged mismanagement of funds as concerns.
