Bauchi State Government has inaugurated a Joint Public Service Negotiation Council for the implementation of minimum wage in the state.
The Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Mohammed Sabi’u Baba who inaugurated the Council, said they are expected to submit their report on the 27 of this month.
Mohammed Sabi’u Baba enumerated some of the terms of reference of the council to include recommending to the state government on modalities of ensuring effective implementation of the minimum wage.
He said with their recommendations, the state governmentwill ensure commencement of the full implementation of the new minimum wage inthe state.
The Secretary to the State Government therefore called onmembers of the council to justify the confidence reposed in them by doingjustice in the discharge of their assigned responsibilities.
The Council had the State Head of Service, Alhaji Ahmed Ma’aji as chairman, and 41 other members comprising government and labour officials.
