Today, we celebrate one of the Bauchi State’s greatest political assets, bridge-builder, trailblazer, quintessential statesman and dexterous legislator, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y. Suleiman (Dangaladiman Ningi), the Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly as he clocks the golden age of 50.
Although Dangaladiman Ningi has been a household name in Bauchi for many years of his philanthropic gestures that cut across towns and cities of Bauchi State, the name became more endearing and popular when different segments of the people of Bauchi State collectively endorsed him as right lawmaker to spearhead the affairs of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, as Speaker. This is not unconnected with his sterling leadership qualities, unrivalled antecedents and unmatched pedigree. Against all odds, the will of the majority of people of Bauchi State prevails, Dangaladiman Ningi emerged as the Speaker of the 9th Assembly of Bauchi State.
The manner in which Rt. Hon. Abubakar Suleiman is running the affairs of the legislative arm, is confirming the high expectations people have in him to deliver. Despite the hitherto skirmishes in the Honourable House, Dangaladima’s humility, simplicity and reserving nature have restore calmness, togetherness and brotherhood among all members of the Assembly. He is effectively delivering the divine mandate giving to him by Almighty Allah through his Honourable Colleagues.
His greatest passion for the welfare of the downtrodden masses and development of Bauchi State can’t be faulted even by his enemy. Dangaladima has exhibited high sense of responsibility and patriotism in all the positions he held in his life. Pundits and public commentators have attributed the accedence of Rt. Abubakar Y. Suleiman to number three position of Bauchi State to his modest life, simplicity, large network of friends and well wishers and his respect for all.
Dangaladima is never a power-drunk. As Speaker he remains the Dangaladima Na Kowa he is fondly called. He is always accessible to his constituents, people of Ningi Central and of course all people of the State and beyond. His trademark smile has never left his face even for a second. He mingles, shake hands, chats, laughs and eats with everybody irrespective of class or status. He has so much respect for his Honourable Colleagues and all staff of the State Assembly. Dangaladima has no enemy, whatever you did to him, he will give you excuse and will never consider you enemy, he has no such word in his dictionary.
Unlike many politicians who abandon their Constituency after winning election or visit rarely, Dangaladima is a regular visitor to Ningi. Weddings, condolences, community meetings, visitations, invitations, name them, Dangaladima misses none in Ningi. His intervention in bringing to an end the water shortage in many communities and other interventions in community development projects and initiatives in his Constituency, is already yielding positive results. This is a tip of an iceberg as he always says. “I don’t count these small things as anything, people of Ningi will see a lot as we are planning BIG for them”.
There is no doubt Governor Bala Mohammad has found a partner in progress in Dangaladiman Ningi and together they can take Bauchi State to any level of development. Members of the Bauchi State House of Assembly have gotten a colleague and Speaker who listen to all, respect all, treats all with fairness and justice and discriminates against none. In him they found a Speaker they will some much cherish and wish he will lead them forever. Whenever the history of the Bauchi State House of Assembly and of course Bauchi State is written, Dangaladima will be depicted as one of the best leaders and patriots that BAHA and Bauchi State ever had at the helm of affairs of the State.
