Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y Suleiman (Dangaladiman Ningi) has lauded the efforts of Albarka Radio Bauchi for professionalism in information dissemination in Bauchi State.
A statement by his spokesman Abdul Ahmed Burra says, the speaker made the commendation at the first anniversary of Albarka Radio Listeners Forum held today at the station’s premises in Bauchi.
The Speaker who was represented by his Chief of Staff Alhaji Musa Bako Ningi said since the establishment of the Radio in Bauchi, it has succeeded in mobilizing and sensitizing people on their rights and roles in the development of Bauchi State.
He said the way Albarka radio has given equal access and treatment to all political parties and politicians during the 2019 general elections has contributed immensely in strengthening democracy in the State.
The Speaker stressed the importance of strong relations between media organizations and their listeners, as without listeners the stations will seize to exist.
He therefore commended the listeners forum for their contributions for smooth information dissemination and public enlightenment in the State.
Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y. Suleiman called on the association to intensify efforts towards enlightening the public on various issues affecting the state, stating his resolve to partner with the association for the betterment of lives of the people of Bauchi State.
At the end of the occasion, the Speaker presented awards of excellence on behalf of the association to the Managing Director of Albarka Radio Alhaji Musa Waziri Hardawa and other recipients.
