Bayero University’s CESPOR Appoints Research Fellows, Pledges Impactful Research

The Center for Economic, Social and Population Research (CESPOR), Bayero University, Kano has appointed eight academics from the university as research fellows to accelerate the centre’s activities.

The centre aims to provide long-term, evidence-based solutions to societal issues related to the economy, society, and population.

During the inaugural meeting held at BUK’s new site yesterday, CESPOR’s Director, Professor Nu’uman Habib, stated that the centre, which was established three years ago, aims to become a global leader in social, economic, and population policy research.

He said CESPOR is dedicated to solving national economic, social, and population problems through professionalism and sharing of ideas, as well as promoting knowledge advancement through academic engagements such as workshops, seminars, and conferences.

The research fellows come from various disciplines, in line with global best practices, and are responsible for conducting research and publishing papers, proactively identifying external funding opportunities, and managing research grants, among other tasks.

The Director encouraged the research fellows to utilize this opportunity to strive for excellence, promising that all research will be high-impact, evidence-based, and aim to influence policies for a better nation.
