The Supreme Court in Abuja has finally put to rest the legal entanglementbetween Bauchi state governor, Bala Mohammed of the People’s Democratic Party and Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar of the opposition All Progressives Congress,APC.
The court has quashed the arguments put forward by the APC and its candidate Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar.
It has finally validated Bala of the PDP as duly elected governor of the state.
In a unanimous judgement delivered on the petition filled in by the APC and its candidate on Monday, a five man panel of the court led by Justice Mohammed Dattijo has thrown away Mr Abubakar’s prayers and affirmed Bala’s victory.
It dismissed an appeal marked SC/1502, which the immediate past governor of the state and candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Mohammed Abubakar, filed to challenge the outcome of the governorship election.
