The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Idris Wase (APC-Plateau) has called for collaborative efforts among Nigerians towards addressing security challenge and other problems facing the country.
Wase made the call while receiving a delegation from Plateau State House of Assembly led by the Speaker, Mr Abok Ayuba on Thursday in Abuja.
“My doors are open to you and indeed the entire country.
“We need one another; we need to come together closely to tackle the menace troubling the country: insecurity, the issue of poverty that does not have tribe or religion.
“So you are welcome always and I look forward to a better partnership with all of you,” he said.
Wase also said the leadership of the National Assembly require prayers and advice from Nigerians.
Earlier, Ayuba, congratulated Wase on his emergence as the deputy speaker of the House.
He said the people of Plateau were glad to have one of their own at the helm of affairs in the National Assembly.
“As a senior brother, we will always have confidence to come to Abuja to seek for your advice and fatherly counseling,’’Ayuba said. (NAN)
