Speaker, House of Representatives , Yakubu Dogra has released a wide margin figures, putting him ahead of his opponent Dalhatu Kantana for Dass/Bogoro/Tafawa Balewa constituency, in Bauchi state.
Mr Dogara expresses concern that there were clandestine motives to rigg him out despite “the wide margin seen in the polls”, sources closed to the Speaker told WikkiTimes.
Dogara represents Dass/Bogoro/Tafawa Balewa Federal constituency and is the current Speaker, House of Representatives.
Sources close to the Speaker told WikkiTimes that the law maker was not comfortable with some political gladiators in the state whom they say were desperate to rigg the Speaker.
Dogara has been at logger head with Bauchi state Governor, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar.
Turaki Hassan, his media aide says he was not aware of the moves and declined to comment further.
But a spokesperson for the Kantana campaign, Salisu Shehu, disputed the figures saying they were cooked to confuse the public.
Mr Shehu, a professor, said the voting did not take place in Mr Dogara’s town of Bogoro, saying the 49,000 claimed to be recorded there were cooked up.
“The claimed victory by Dogara is false and thus null and void. The results of Bogoro where Dogara is claimed to have polled 40,000 are not valid and have not been duly accepted by INEC.
“The card reader was not even used and all APC officials and agents were terrorised and chased away,” Mr Shehu said.
