Ekiti gov’s Wife Urges Stakeholders’ Support Against Sexual Violence

The Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Mrs Bisi Fayemi, has called on Nigerians to stand up against the rising wave of sexual violence in the country.
Fayemi made the call on Thursday during a stakeholders’ meeting on stemming the tide of Gender-Based Violence (GBV), held at Emure-Ekiti, Emure Local Government Area.

She said that there was an extant law prohibiting GBV in the state and warned that anyone caught in the act risked a life jail term.

She admonished survivors of sexual violence not to hesitate to report their experience to security agencies.

She further urged parents to always allow peace to reign in their homes and also discourage their children from watching pornography.
