Just In: Ogun NYSC Camp Records 35 Active COVID-19 Cases


At least 35 corps members at the Ogun State NYSC Orientation Camp in
Sagamu have tested positive for COVID-19, DailyTrust reports.

Dr Tomi Coker, the Ogun State Commissioner for Health, revealed this to
newsmen on Thursday in Abeokuta while commenting on the rising third wave of COVID-19 in the state.

Media reports in Nigeria on Wednesday indicated that about 109 corps
members were diagnosed with COVID – 19 at the various NYSC orientation
camps nationwide. The camps were opened at the weekend for Batch B,
Stream 1 corps members, with six cases recorded in Ogun.

Dr Coker confirmed that 35 cases were recorded at the state’s NYSC camp
on Thursday.

The Commissioner said that some of corps members have been confined to the isolation
centers, while others are on home management.

“The number of NYSC members that have tested positive is 35. Some are on
home management, while some are in the isolation center,” she said.
