A State High Court in Kano has ordered Aminu Ado Bayero to relinquish presenting himself as the Emir of Kano with immediate effect.

The court in an interim order also asked the police to eject him from Nassarawa royal residence where he was holding palace court since Thursday.
In the interim order obtained by WikkiTimes, the Court ordered the four other deposed emirs of Karaye, Bichi, Rano and Gaya to follow the same instruction.
This comes against an earlier order of a federal high court sitting in Kano which restrained the State government from reinstating Muhammadu Sanusi and scrapped the emirates created by ex-governor, Abdullahi Ganduje.
WikkiTimes reports that Governor Abba Yusuf had assented to the repeal of the Kano Emirates Council Law amended by the state house of assembly and announced the reinstatement of Sanusi as the new emir of Kano.
The new law repealed the 2019 law signed by former governor of the state Abdullahi Umar Ganduje that Balkanized the emirate in five different emirates.
However, while other emirs accepted their fates and vacated palaces as ordered by Gov.Yusuf, Aminu Ado Bayero refused citing the court order which restrained his dethronement.
The court has instructed the Nigeria Police to evict the deposed emir from the Nasarawa-mini palace.
