Kano State High Court has sentenced a Chinese national, Frank Geng Quarong, to death by hanging following his conviction of murder of his ex-girlfriend, Ummukulsum Sani Buhari popularly called Ummita.
Quarong had been arraigned before Kano State High Court for murder after he allegedly stabbed his ex lover to death in their family house in Jambulo Quarters of Kano City.
Ummukulsum and Quarong had been in a relationship where the Chinese national allegedly spent fortune on her only to dump him and got married to another man.
Her marriage reportedly short lived after which the Chinese national tried to win back her love but failed.
Justice Sunusi Ado Ma’aji sentenced the suspect after prosecutors proved their case beyond reasonable doubt.
The convict has the right to appeal against the judgement.
