Minimum wage:Meeting between Bauchi Govt, organised labour ends in deadlock

A meeting between the Bauchi state government and the organized labor unions on the implementation of the new national minimum wage has ended in a deadlock.

The state Chairman, Joint Public Service Negotiation Council (JPSNC), Comrade Abdullahi Ibrahim Askia who made this known to newsmen in a press release on Wednesday, said the organized labor in the state is on top of the matter as negotiation continues.

Ibrahim Askiya who assured workers in Bauchi State of the commitment of the JPSNC to protect their rights, said the development was due to the offer made by the representatives of the government side in the meeting to the organized labor.

The meeting, according to the statement, is expected to be concluded on Friday, which is the deadline earlier given to the negotiation committee by the state government.

Comrade Abdullahi Ibrahim expressed gratitude to Bauchi State workers for their understanding and support and called on them to relentlessly pray for the successful conclusion of the meeting.
