More Trouble For Gov. Bala As Former Senator Hamma Misau Jettisons PDP, Teams Up With Dogara

A former Senator representing Bauchi North Senatorial District, Senator Isa Hamma Misau  has dumped the People’s Democratic Party, PDP to the All Progressives Congress.

The former lawmaker had joined Yakubu Dogara a former House of Representatives Speaker who left PDP a couple of weeks earlier.

The defection of Misau who represented Bauchi Central Senatorial District at the upper legislative chambers in the 8th assembly is considered another blow to the ruling People’s Democratic Party in the State.

Misau announced his defection back to the APC at the Governor’s Lodge of the APC Caretaker Chairman and Yobe state Governor, Mai Mala Buni on Friday.

Before his defection, Misau was appointed Chairman of an investigative committee of inquiry which was mandated to investigate alleged looting of the State’s public treasury by former Governor MA Abubakar.

Reacting on the development, Hamza Koshe Akuyam, Bauchi State Chairman of the ruling PDP in Bauchi State described the defection as, “good riddance to bad rubbish, he came alone into the PDP in 2019 when he was denied ticket to contest, he could not win even in his polling unit, if he is going, bye-bye to him”.

Mr. Akuyam Akuyam who admitted that though the situation was unfortunate, he said Isa Hamma Misau, ” has a lot of issues hanging on his neck to settle with the federal government as one of the contractors, so, he has to look for a safe haven in order to have rest.”

“As he and others like him are going, many others are coming in to replace them. We are not afraid of anything come 2023, it is a river and when we get to the bank, we will create a bridge with which to cross the river”.
