NAN Lauds NGO For Organising Free Training For Staff

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday lauded an NGO, Core Fundamental Inventors (CFI), for organising free capacity training for 50 of its members of staff. Mr Moses Uzoagba, Deputy Director, Admin and Human Resources Department, of the agency, gave the commendation at the closing of the 3-day free training at NAN headquarters Abuja.

The traininy by CFI centered on business journalism, web design, corporate finance and evaluation, cyber security fundamentals, digital transformation, performance management evaluation, effective leadership capacity and team building, rules, regulations, processes and procedure in public service.

According to Uzoagba, the training which stated from June 30 to July 2, 2021 was designed for 50 staff, cutting across various department that made up the agency.  “I want to thank CFI because the training was beneficial to us individually and collectively. “

We are grateful to CFI, apart from the knowledge they impacted, they also made the training quite interesting. “We approached them for this and we never knew it would turn out this way. “Management believes this is just the begining of our future business interaction, assistance and cooperation, in terms of partnership with CFI,” he said.

Also speaking, Dr Henry Ossamulu, the CFI Director of Training Programme, said the initiative would continue till 2026. He noted that the initiative was borne out of the organisation’s desire to contribute its quota to nation building processes through capacity building. “

We observed there had been decadence in management practices within the civil service and even, other private sectors of the nation’s economy. “So, we felt it was imperative to put up capacity building programmes, to add value to our nation’s work force. “

We believe Nigeria someday will become a much better place, where everybody across the world will want to be, and that can be achieved by capacity building. “This s what CFI intends to do in the nearest future, but we cannot do it alone, so we need partners, to achieve targets,” Ossamulu said.
