Nasarawa Lawmaker Partners NOA On Campaign For Peaceful Coexistence

Member representing Keana constituency in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Mr Mohammed Omadefu, has expressed his readiness to partner with the National Orientation Agency (NOA) in its campaign for peaceful coexistence in the country.


Omadefu stated this on Tuesday, while playing host to members of staff of NOA in Keana Local Government area of the state.


The lawmaker, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Information, said that the importance of peace to societal development could not be over-emphasised, hence the need for the partnership with the agency.


“I want to appreciate you for the visit and to assure you of my readiness to synergise with you in order to carry out your sensitisation campaign against social ills in my constituency for the benefit of all.


“I want my constituency and the state at large to be vices- free; I want it to be a society that is free from arm robbery and all other negative tendencies.
“This is because of the importance of peace to the development of any society. Indeed, peace is priceless and non-negotiable,” he said.


The lawmaker assured the people of his constituency of quality and sound representation to enable them enjoy more dividends of democracy.


Earlier, Mallam Abdullahi Umar-Sarki, the Chief Orientation and Mobilisation Officer of NOA, said that the visit was aimed at identifying with the lawmaker and to seek for partnership in the area of sensitisation of the citizenry.

“It is strictly within the ethics of our operation that we try to identify with some key stakeholders like you on assumption of duty.
“This is for the purpose of understanding pressing areas of need and creating good rapport for collaborating on the field,” he said.


He assured of the agency’s commitment to sensitising the people of the area and the state at large on the need maintain unity and peaceful coexistence. (NAN)
