NLC tasks Nigerians to support its struggle

The Nigerian Labour Congress(NLC) has solicited the support and cooperation of all Nigerians in its agitation for the upward review of the National Minimum Wage.

The National President of the Union, Comrade Ayuba Wabba made the appeal while presenting the demands of the Union to the Bauchi State Governor as part of their nationwide sensitization rally.

Ayuba Wabba expressed confidence that, payment of the thirty thousand naira as new national minimum wage would be beneficial to workers and indeed Nigerians especially improving their living condition.

According to him, national minimum wage must be reviewed upward after every eight years, but regretted that the Nigerian Government has not complied.

The NLC President said the organized labour considers dialogue as the only solution to resolving workers’ demands in line with international best practices of labour practice.

Ayuba Wabba, represented by the National President of RATTAWU, Comrade Kabiru Garba Tsami, said the sensitization rally is to demand for the transmission of the bill to the National Assembly for passage.
