NSCDC Recruitment: Civil Defence Faults Bauchi Assembly, Says Recruitment Allegation Unfounded

Nigeria Security and CIVIL Defence Corps, NSCDC, Bauchi State Command has swiftly debunked the claim by the State House Assembly that its board shortchanged the state in the recruitment exercise it conducted recently.  

Members of the Bauchi State House of Assembly have alleged that the NSCDC shortlisted only seven unfamiliar names of successful candidates from the state out of the 576 slots allotted to the entire northeast sub-region.

Garkuwa Adamu, the Public Relations Officer of the Corps in Bauchi while speaking to WikkiTimes’ reporter said the figures which the lawmakers used to base their argument was not authentic and it did not come from its head office.

He said that the figures used by the lawmakers to be the foundation for their claim were part of social media hype hence, it is not true and inauthentic.

Garkuwa gave the breakdown of the application received via online application process as “1,474,149 applied for the job nationwide, 670,000 were invited to upload their credentials and only 200,000 to uploaded, 53,116 wrote CBT. 6,500 were shortlisted for final screening out of which 5,000 will be employed”.

Bauchi State House of Assembly had earlier accused the Corps, Federal Fire Service and Nigerian Immigration Service of a lopsided recruitment process.

The lawmakers had in a plenary last week alleged that even the seven names that were shortlisted from Bauchi, looked like Igbo names, something suggesting that they are not indigenes of Bauchi State
