The Jigawa Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has commended Gov. Umar Namadi for appointing a veteran female journalist, Hajiya Zainab Rabo-Ringim, as his Senior Special Assistant on Media.
A statement issued on Tuesday in Dutse by Larai Musa, the council secretary, said the appointment was well deserved and prayed for her success.
It said that as former Zonal Vice President and two-term national Vice President of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Rabo-Ringim left indelible marks through commitment, diligence, and exemplary leadership.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports Rabo-Ringim had worked with Jigawa Radio Corporation and served as a correspondent for Radio Deutsche Welle.
She was also the state chairperson of NAWOJ for two terms. She had served as Senior Special Adviser, Monitoring and Evaluation to the immediate former governor of Jigawa, Alhaji Badaru Abubakar. (NAN)
