Number of Out-of-School Children In Bauchi Worries APC Governorship Aspirant

The 1.4 million out-of-school children in Bauchi State continue to give Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar (rtd), a governorship aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

He said if elected, he would work vigorously to fix the education sector of the state to allow children of the power to have access to qualitative education.

Air Marshal Sadique who was a former Chief of Air Staff, said that over 1,000,000 children roaming Bauchi streets without being indexed in a class is unacceptable, adding that a deliberate effort must be made to change the status quo.

He challenged the leadership of the party to work toward the victory party at the polls in 2023.

Air Marshal Sadique said this when he paid a courtesy visit to the new leadership structure of the APC at its Secretariat along Maiduguri Byepass Bauchi.

He said the party has no further excuses for not being able to oust the incumbent PDP in Bauchi State having formed a pragmatic leadership hierarchy for the party across all levels.

Air Marshal Sadique said that leadership is both a trust and a burden that anyone given a chance to perform a role, must be seen to be doing it wholeheartedly.

The former Chief of Air Staff said that nothing could please members of the party in Bauchi than a victory in 2023.

He, however, observed that to clinch power from the PDP, leaders of the party in the state must be fair and just to all aspirants to be able to come up with a popular and acceptable candidate.

In 2019, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of PDP defeated Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar of the APC in a keenly contested election. Since then, APC in Bauchi remains an opposition party despite controlling the Bauchi State House of Assembly.
