The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim has said that the NYSC has approved the sum of N33,000 as new corps members monthly take home.
Ibrahim said the amount approved as corps members’ monthly allowance by the Federal Government is in line with the new national minimum wage standard.
He disclosed this while speaking to corps members at the NYSC Bauchi State Secretariat during his working visit to the state.
Ibrahim said contrary to the various amounts being circulated on the social media, the sum of N33,000 had been approved as the new rate.
The DG said the provision of the new rates has been captured in the 2020 budget estimates and payment would commence as soon as relevant authorities release the funds.
