Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC, commends prevailing peace and security in Bauchi State despite its geographical proximity with insurgent ravaged Borno, Yobe and Adamawa States.
The PCRC said the peace and security Bauchi is enjoying at the moment is no surprise given the extent of efforts of Governor Bala Abdulkadir towards securing the lives and properties of Bauchi Voters within the time he has been in office.
Dr. Faruq Abdullahi Maiyama, National Chairman, PCRC stated this during a courtesy visit to the Governor at the Government House on Wednesday.
Dr. Faruq Abdullahi Maiyama said the PCRC received a lot of support for its activities from the governor since he was a federal lawmaker and FCT Minister.
“Everywhere we go in Bauchi we see peace and security throughout the length and breath of the state because Kaura is the Chief Security Officer of the state.
“Governor Bala is not just a public figure in view of the positions he held but also a man who has the security of lives and properties of his people at heart.
“Based on his commitment to ensure peace and stability in Bauchi State, the governor is able to bring all the 36 states chairmen of PCRC, and Zonal Officers together to see ways to improve security in the state,” the Chairman said.
He said in view of this, the PCRC has branded Governor Bala Abdulkadir as life National Patron.
Receiving the award, Governor Bala Abdulkadir who was represented by his Deputy, Senator Baba Tela, said we all know the.importance of security and the role of the police in ensuring safety of our lives and properties.
Governor Bala said in spite of the mass influx of people into the state over the past few years because of the insurgency bedeviling the Northeast, the state is able to maintain security because of the relentless efforts of the police and other security agencies towards that.
“We are happy with not only the advice we received from the PCRC your contribution intelligence gathering which helped us greatly to achieve our goal on security by taking proactive measures to curtail possible breakdown of the peaceful atmosphere being enjoyed in the state.
The governor appreciated PCRC and vowed to work with them for the security of Bauchi State in particular and Nigeria as a whole.
