The police in Osun, have arraigned a 57-year-old man, Segun Adeleke, before an Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly threatening to kill one Samuel Adebisi.

The police prosecutor, Sgt. Adeoye Kayode, told the court that the defendant committed the offence sometime in September 2018 at 10 p.m. along Igbonna area, Osogbo.

He said the defendant unlawfully threatened to kill one Samuel Adebisi, hence his appearance in court for a two-count charge of breach of peace and threat to life.

Kayode said the defendant’s action led to a breach of public peace.

He said the offence committed contravened Sections 86(1) and 249(d) of the Criminal Code Cap 34, Vol. 11, Laws of Osun, 2003.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the counts as his counsel, Abdulsalam Abdullateef, prayed the court to grant his client bail in most liberal terms, assuring that he would not jump bail.

The magistrate, Mr Taofeeq Badmus, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
