Police operatives in Bauchi have arrested Ya’u Buba, 25, and Muhammadu Buba, 22, for allegedly beheading Dauda Manu, a 25-year-old motorcycle rider in Dosho community of Darazo local government area of Bauchi State.Â
Ya’u was arrested in Gombe with the desceased’s motorcycle. He claimed that he bought the motorcycle for N250,000 from Muhammadu.
Meanwhile, Manu’s body was found with multiple injuries hours after he was seen ridding two unknown persons.
After examination, a medical doctor at Darazo General Hospital confirmed that Manu died. The injuries he sustained led to his death at the hands of his supposed customers.Â
Confirming the incident on Monday, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Bauchi Command, CSP Ahmed Wakil said residents of Dosho raised the alarm that a motionless body of an unidentified individual was found lying.
He said “Upon receiving the report, a team of detectives led by the Divisional Police Officer visited the scene and evacuated the unidentified body to the General Hospital Darazo.
“Following a painstaking investigation, the deceased was later identified as Dauda Manu, a 25-year-old of Unguwar Buba Fulata, Lanzai via Darazo LGA of Bauchi State.
Wakil said the case has been transferred to the state criminal investigation department for a discreet investigation to unravel the incident’s circumstances. After that, the suspects will be charged in court.
