Police Arrest 5 Armed Robbery Syndicate Terrorising Bauchi Metropolis

Five armed robbery syndicates who specialize in terrorising and robbing residents of Bauchi metropolis have been arrested by the state police command.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the command, DSP Ahmed Wakil who made this known in a press release Tuesday said that the suspects were arrested on 26th September, 2020.

He noted that the five suspected armed robbers conspired among themselves and broke into the room of one Fukaihat Ayuba Isah ‘f’, aged 23yrs at Banana Island lodge in Gwallameji.

The PPRO gave the identities of the suspects to include, 28 year old Endurance Luya (male) of Gwallameji, 20 year old Daniel Adamu also known as Small of Yelwan Tudu (male) and 23 year old Emmanuel Hassan also known as Junior, of Rafin Zurfi (male).

The rest according to the PPRO are, 25 year old Aliyu Sulaiman (male) of Gwallameji and a 19 year old Yunusa Ali, also known as Raka (male).

DSP Wakil said that the suspects after inflicting various degrees of injuries on the victim, Fukaihat by macheting her with cutlass also robbed her of some valuables.

“On receipt of the report, a team of policemen were drafted to the scene and they rushed the victim to ATBU Teaching Hospital Bauchi for medical attention”, the PPRO said.

He further explained that the victim is currently on admission at the hospital receiving treatment.

DSP Wakil said items belonging to the victim that were recovered from the suspects include, a box containing her clothes, Zinox Laptop, Itel mobile phone, mattress, Gas cylinder and a purse containing seven hundred naira (N700).

He said one cutlass with blood stain, one jack knife, one knife, three sanitary pads were also recovered as exhibits from the suspects.

The police image maker said that on preliminary investigation, all the suspects confessed to have committed the crime while the case has been transferred to SCID for discreet investigation.
