Stakeholders task journalists on unity, peaceful co-existence

Mr Mathew Kuju, a veteran journalist and publisher of Eggon newspaper in Nasarawa State, has called on journalists in the state to promote unity, peace and national development.

Kuju made the call on Thursday while speaking at the congress of the state council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Lafia.

He said that if journalists worked in unity, it would go a long way in promoting peace among them and other people in the society.

“I want to thank all of you for always giving me the needed respect all the time even though I am not the oldest person here.

“My advice is for all of us to work in unity and harmony because when we work in unity, we will achieve our aims of being the mirror of the society,” Kuju said.

The veteran journalist tasked the upcoming and old journalists to adhere strictly to their professional ethics in the interest of peace and national development.

Mr Jerry Peleng, a retired News Editor with the Nasarawa State Broacasting Service (NBS), also tasked media practitioners on national stability and growth.
